Klimavicius leads Zalgiris to victory in Marijampole 0
Zalgiris Kaunas went two of two in the weekend’s back-to-back games after defeating Suduva 97:79 (22:15, 19:25, 30:11, 26:28) in a Lithuanian League (LKL) game in Marijampole on Sunday.
Mirza Begic from the Kaunas club and the host’s Raimundas Danys were both ejected from the game after an incident, which started with Danys’ fouling the big Slovenian with two minutes on the clock in the fourth quarter.
Tadas Klimavicius led the visitors with a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds. Dainius Salenga collected 13 as Arturas Milaknis also got into double-figures with 11 points.
The Sudovian side was top-scored by Nerijus Varnelis, who finished the game with 20, Saulius Kezevicius contributed with 16 while Andrius Cizikas added 11.
Zalgiris started strong from the beginning of the game going on an 11:0 run and setting the tone for the rest of the game. Despite coming back and even turning the score in their favor at 33:32, Suduva’s performance spiraled down in the second half as the visitors broke away after a 19:0 spurt in the third quarter.
