Mirza Begic out for the season 0
Zalgiris confidently cruised past Lietuvos Rytas in game one of the Lithuanian League (LKL) finals. However, the victory came with a cost – three players didn’t finish the game due to injuries. One of them, Mirza Begic, is out for the remainder of the season with a fractured bone in his wrist.
Begic got injured in the beginning of the third period and left the court with a painful expression on his face. The big Slovenian didn’t go to the morning practice session back in Kaunas as he had his injury thoroughly examined in hospital. In a best-case scenario Begic could be back practicing in five weeks.
Travis Watson and Marcus Brown were among the players, who had to leave the court with time remaining in the game. Watson was diagnosed with concussion and a cut cheek, which needed ten stitches, after Donatas Zavackas pile-drove into the American bigman. It’s still not clear, whether the player will be able to help Zalgiris in game two. Brown, on the other hand, will definitely be able to play after he knocked his knee in the first game.
