Third win in VTB United League 0
Great shooting of Zalgiris Kaunas (3-0) helped Lithuanians to beat Kalev Tallinn (0-3) 101:83 for their third win in VTB League.
Guests managed to keep the game close in the first period as they trailed only by six. Kaunas’ team used a 21:0 run in the second quarter to pull off the Estonians and secure the matters 58:32 by the half time.
After the break Zalgiris could not keep the intensity on the defensive end, as Kalev dropped 51 points in the second half, however they continued hot shooting from the floor to hold on comfortable 20-plus point lead. In the end Estonians were able to close a gap a little bit more, but it was far from enough.
Zalgiris shot an impressive 59.2% from three point range, making 16 out of 27 attempts.
Paulius Jankunas scored 19 points for the hosts. Travis Watson added 15 and 6 rebounds, Dainius Salenga made 14, Martynas Pocius – 12, Alexander Capin and Arturas Milaknis netted 11 points each.
Kalev’s Rait Keerles led all scorers with his 20 point effort.
