Zalgiris with a close win in Riga 0
Thursday’s VTB United League game in Riga wasn’t an easy stroll for Zalgiris. The club from Kaunas had to sweat a little bit for the win against VEF, but still ended up on top 79-74 (30-20, 19-25, 20-20, 10-9).
Martynas Pocius led the green-and-whites to victory with 15 points, Mindaugas Kuzminskas collected 14, while Mantas Kalnietis and Paulius Jankunas finished the game with 13 and 10 points respectively for Zalgiris.
The Latvian side’s top scorers were Kristaps Janicenoks and Artsiom Parakhouski as both collected 20 points, with the latter snatching 10 rebounds as well. Newcomer Trevon Hughes contributed with 12 points of his own.
