Neptunas hands Zalgiris the first loss in Lithuanian League 0

Zalgiris Kaunas suffered the first defeat in Lithuanian Basketball League on Monday in Klaipeda. Lithuanian champions fought to the very end, but lost to Neptunas Klaipeda 77-78.

It ended the eight-game winning streak of Zalgiris. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Neptunas increased their impressive winning streak to 14 games.

The best player for the winners was forward Deividas Gailius, who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Rashaun Broadus chipped in 14 points.

Center Robertas Javtokas scored 15 points for Zalgiris. Forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas produced 14 points and 6 rebounds for the guests.
