Zalgiris wins one more vs. Nevezis, goes to LKL semifinal 0

Zalgiris swept the Lithuanian League (LKL) quarterfinal series versus Nevezis Kedainiai following a comfortable road win on Thursday. The team from Kaunas won 91-71 and will meet Neptunas Klaipeda in the semifinal.

During the second game of LKL quarterfinals Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled the tempo increasing the lead in each quarter. Lithuanian champions dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis’ 28. On the other hand the hosts started the game scoring first 21 points only on 3point shots.

The best player for the winners was the center Darjus Lavrinovic who scored 20 points. He was perfect from the field making all seven shots. Another center Robertas Javtokas chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Zalgiris’ coach Joan Plaza used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Center Gediminas Zyle produced 15 points and 5 rebounds for Nevezis. Point guard Vytenis Jasikevicius added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts.
