Zalgiris defeats Siauliai in spectacular fashion 7

Zalgiris Kaunas defeated BC Siauliai 101:50 (25:13, 21:15, 22:12, 33:10) on Monday at Zalgirio arena. This was the first time in the season that the LKL champions were able to score 100 points or more.

The match was not hard for Zalgiris from the beginning. Kaunas team offense was on point and Siauliai struggled to put the ball in the basket. The score after the first period was 25:13.

The visitors had a better second quarter, both offensively and defensively. But behind a solid performance by Brock Motum Zalgiris still managed to win the period (46:28).

The situation did not change much after the halftime. Zalgiris’ game was clicking and Kevin Pangos kept on scoring easy baskets. Siauliai tried their best, but they just could not score efficiently. The score was 68:40 before the last period.

The fourth quarter was the most impressive. Zalgiris youngsters played extremely well in offense and finally Paulius Valinskas scored the 100th point and made the crowd very happy. Zalgiris won – 101:50.

Renaldas Seibutis was consistent all night long and was the leading scorer for Zalgiris – he got 16 points. Isaiah Hartenstein scored 10 points with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Vladislav Koreniuk scored 17 for Siauliai. Lukas Aukstikalnis added 8.
