The two-week break in action in the Betsafe LKL did not knock Zalgiris Kaunas out of their rhythm. League leaders capped the weekend with a 75-51 win on the road against Pieno Zvaigzdes on Sunday.
Having jumped out to a 24-13 lead already in the opening period, the Kaunas side turned on cruise control mode and once again used the opportunity to spread the minutes evenly among the available players.
French forward Axel Toupane had one of his best games for Zalgiris, collecting a game-high 17 points and adding 6 rebounds in 24 minutes of playing time, the highest by any players.
Dee Bost chipped in with 12 points and also had 6 rebounds, while Brandon Davies inscribed a double-double of 11 points and 11 boards, helping the visitors from Kaunas finish the game with a 48-31 advantage on the glass.
Vyacheslav Bobrov, the Betsafe LKL Player of the Month for November, had a team-highs of 12 points and 6 rebounds for Pieno Zvaigzdes, while Martynas Varnas was the only other double-digit scorer with 11 points in his account.
The win allowed Zalgiris, now 12-1, to get a two-win lead over Lietkabelis and Neptunas, with Pieno Zvaigzdes dropping to 5-8 in what was a debut for coach Gediminas Petrauskas, who replaced Rimantas Grigas earlier in the week.
