Zalgiris sweeps Nevezis in LKL quarterfinals 2

Zalgiris wasted no time in the Betsafe LKL quarterfinals and progressed to the next round of the playoffs after back-to-back wins against Nevezis on Thursday and Friday.

The top-seeded Kaunas club completed the sweep with an 84-69 victory at the Zalgirio Arena, taking the fastest route to the semifinals after winning the series 3-0.

Brandon Davies led the well-rounded scoring punch with 13 points for Zalgiris, Arturas Milaknis collected 12 points, while Edgaras Ulanovas and Beno Udrih chipped in with 10 points apiece, with the latter also dishing out 9 assists.

For Nevezis, Gintautas Matulis registered 21 points and 5 rebounds, Lester Medford added 16 points, as Margiris Normantas filled the boxscore with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Zalgiris will now play Lietkabelis in the semifinals, with the first game of the best-of-five series taking place in Kaunas on Tuesday night.
