Ulanovas stays in Kaunas 6
Small forward Edgaras Ulanovas, one of the anchors of the historic Final Four run by Zalgiris Kaunas last season, is staying in his hometown team with the “1+1” contract.
Ulanovas (1.98 meters, 26 years old) has played four Turkish Airlines EuroLeague seasons so far, all with Zalgiris, and had two game-winning plays against Unicaja Malaga this season to help his team make its first Final Four this century.
He finished the season having started 31 of 35 games and averaging 7.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists. He finished with the team’s third-highest PIR, 10.9 per game.
Ulanovas played for seven other Lithuanian teams, including one the 2013-14 EuroCup season with Neptunas Klaipeda, before joining Zalgiris the following summer and starting 83 of his 113 EuroLeague games to date.
He led Zalgiris with 15 blocks last season and also ranked fourth among EuroLeague forwards with 74 assists.
