Zalgiris beats CSKA and wins the Gloria Cup 5

Zalgiris Kaunas captured the Gloria Cup preseason tournament in Antalya, Turkey, by defeating rival CSKA Moscow 81-73 in the title game on Sunday. In doing so, the Lithuanian champs completed a 3-0 trip to Turkey.

Nate Wolters with 18 points, Marius Grigonis with 15, Arturas Milaknis with 12 and Antanas Kavaliauskas with 11 were the top scorers for Zalgiris.

CSKA’s Cory Higgins led all players with 21 points, while Kyle Hines posted 16 points, Daniel Hackett 14 and Othello Hunter and Alec Peters scored 10 each.

Zalgiris trailed by 4 at halftime, but Wolters and Kavaliauskas came alive in the third quarter as Zalgiris erupted for 25 points to turn the game on its head.

CSKA rallied to regain the lead midway through the fourth quarter only to see Milaknis bury a triple and Grigonis tack on 5 straight points to put the game away.
