The defending Betsafe LKL champions marched on to another win in Kaunas, handing the visiting Rytas a 95-86 defeat at the Zalgirio Arena in a largely one-sided contest that saw the hosts dominate the proceedings from start to finish.
The Sarunas Jasikevicius-coached side improved to a league-best 12-1 record in the domestic championship, while Rytas dropped to 9-4 after their second consecutive defeat, having also lost to Lietkabelis in the mid-week fixture.
Edgaras Ulanovas paced the winners with a team-high 15 points, while Marius Grigonis and Brandon Davies collected 14 points apiece. Arturas Milaknis was the only other double-digit scorer for Zalgiris with 11 points.
Meanwhile, Dominique Sutton and Eimantas Bendzius were the game’s leading scorers with 26 and 20 points respectively for Rytas.
Neither of teams had their full roster available for the Betsafe LKL classic. The Zalgiris trio of Paulius Jankunas, Antanas Kavaliauskas and Aaron White and two Rytas players, Chris Kramer and Evaldas Kairys, watched the game from the sidelines.
