#BackToSchool. Nate Wolters talks about his school days 0
Zalgiris TV welcomes the return of #BackToSchool, a segment where Zalgiris players share their memories way back from school. The first guest of the season, Nate Wolters talked about his time growing up in Minnesota.
“I had a lot of good friends growing up. I lived in the same town my whole life, so we all grew up together. We had a good basketball team and made the state tournament. It was a real big deal and a cool experience.”
The guard revealed his favorite subject, naming history as a class he’d enjoy most.
“I just enjoyed it. Especially US history. I had a good teacher, so I liked it. Math was probably my least favorite subject. I just wasn’t very good at numbers.”
Having grown up in the snowy Minnesota, where hockey is king, Wolters never really got going with any winter sport. However, he did pick up an offseason sport, that he still enjoys today.
“I played tennis. I just did it to do something other than basketball. It was a spring sport, so it was after basketball season. It was fun. I had friends that played tennis too, so it was a good time.”
The one important thing he learned at school was work ethic.
“I learned to work hard. I had good teachers growing up, good coaches. They always instilled me to work hard and to play hard in sports.”
