Zalgiris and Perkunas Basketball School on a same path 0

Zalgiris has taken an extra step to strengthen its youth development program by reaching an agreement with one more basketball school in Kaunas.

Zalgiris Sports Director Robertas Javtokas was pleased to announce the new agreement and welcome the youth of Perkunas to the green-and-white ranks.

“We are pleasantly surprised by the output of all the work we’ve put into the development of our young players. We’re very happy that the basketball schools are interested in helping us systematically develop players and open up doors for them. It is a huge achievement and a recognition of our program.”

The director of Perkunas basketball school Rimas Navickas pointed out that there is a common goal for both sides of the deal.

“The goal for both our, and Zalgiris organisations is one and the same – to provide the best conditions for our young players, to instill the correct values and point them in the right direction in life. It’s so much easier to do when you are not alone, therefore we are very happy having the chance to work alongside Zalgiris. Only together we can reach the goals we have set for Kaunas.”

Interestingly enough, Perkunas and Zalgiris basketball schools will face off against each other already this Saturday (9th of March) in the MKL Youth Cup (U19) Semi-Final.
