Zalgiris holds off Lietkabelis on the road 11
Zalgiris overcame a strong challenge from Lietkabelis to add another victory to their league-best record in the Betsafe LKL, improving to 29-4 following a close-fought 81-76 battle in Panevezys on Saturday.
The Sarunas Jasikevicius-coached side got the breakthrough they were looking for in the third quarter, outscoring the hosts 26-14 to enter the final frame with a 10-point advantage, which they managed to defend.
Marius Grigonis paced the victors with 16 points, Brandon Davies had 15 points, while Edgaras Ulanovas and Arturas Milaknis chipped in with 13 and 8 points, respectively.
For Lietkabelis, Paulius Valinskas had 17 points, Jamar Wilson scored 15 points, Donatas Tarolis finished with 13 points next to his name on the boxscore, as Ike Iroegbu added 12 points.
