Zalgiris victorious to start Playoffs 5
The defending Betsafe LKL champions Zalgiris began the Quarterfinals with an 89-70 victory over the visiting Dzukija, picking up steam in the second half of Tuesday’s contest.
Holding just a one point lead after the first two quarters of play, the Brandon Davies-led hosts decided the outcome by outscoring the visitors from Alytus 27-17 in the third stanza.
Davies finished the game with a team-high 18 points in just 12 minutes of action, with Leo Westermann collected 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Marius Grigonis, Paulius Jankunas and Thomas Walkup chipped in with 9 points each.
Meanwhile, Kerem Kanter posted 30 points and 6 rebounds for Dzukija, as Paulius Petrilevicius and Egidijus Dimsa had 12 and 11 points, respectively.
