#TimeOutZalgiris. Moments of triumph and championship celebrations 1
On Saturday evening, Zalgiris delighted the crowds of green-and-white fans in Zalgirio Arena and earned the ninth consecutive Betsafe-LKL title with a monsterous 92-54 victory over Rytas Vilnius.
Dalia Belickaite was there to witness the backstage and aftermath of the resounding victory, as Zalgiris TV triumphantly dished out the final #TimeOutZalgiris episode.
Dalia had a chat with Brandon Davies after his back-to-back championship win and talked about his Instagram story takeover, where he spent Friday walking around Kaunas and interacting with fans.
“I took a lot of selfies, some I even forgot to post. I wasn’t really expecting this many people to show up. It was fun just being able to interact with the fans and see how much they love me and make sure they know I love them just as much back. It was a lot of fun and I hope everyone enjoyed it.”
After enjoying the Betsafe-LKL trophy win, Davies revealed some of his future plans.
“As soon as I get home, I’m going straight to Hawaii. I’ve got a family reunion. I’ve got to soak up some sun, I need to work on my tan.”
Thomas Walkup was enjoying every moment of the celebration and soaked in the victory.
“Incredible atmosphere tonight, incredible team effort. This is why I came to Zalgiris – to win titles and it’s a blast in here, it’s like a party.”
Arturas Milaknis, who recorded his 8th championship ring, was swinging jokes left and right.
“I think nobody will ever beat Paulius in that regard. What is it, his 13th title already? And he plans to keep on playing and playing… Oh boy, no chance for anybody to catch up on him. I can bet on that.”
Paulius Jankunas was quick to strike back:
“If he plans on playing up until he’s 50, he might as well beat me.”
