Zalgiris parts ways with Martynas Varnas and Donatas Sabeckis 0

As Zalgiris continues preparations for the upcoming season, they have decided to use the contract clause, allowing the team to part ways with 22-year-old Martynas Varnas and 26-year-old Donatas Sabeckis.

Varnas went through the entire Zalgiris system, going through the youth ranks before briefly joining the main team. He went on to be loaned out to several Lithuanian sides in the following seasons.

The athletic forward spent last season in Kedainiai, where he averaged 7.4 points and 2.8 rebounds for Nevezis.

Meanwhile, Sabickis joined Zalgiris just last summer, signing a 1+1 contract. He was loaned out to FIBA Champions League side MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, where he averaged 6.3 points, 3.3. rebounds and 1.8 assists in 19 minutes of playing time.
