#TimeOutZalgiris. Thomas Walkup takes the reigns in EuroLeague Media Day 0

It was not a regular Monday in Zalgirio Arena, as both the main hall, the practice gym and basically all corners of Zalgirio Arena were taken over by the traditional EuroLeague Media Day, where Zalgiris players gave interviews, posed for photos and filmed in videos.

For the season’s second episode of #TimeOutZalgiris, Zalgiris TV had a new crew member running about, as Thomas Walkup took on the microphone and the hosting reigns of the show.

The eloquent American guided the camera crew through the EuroLeague Media Day activities, letting the fans get a glimpse of what goes on in the backstage of the season. The guard got into every corner of the arena and talked to his teammates Nigel Hayes and Jock Landale.

Hayes got the worst of Thomas’ banter, as his diet caught the attention of his compatriot, who couldn’t manage to keep a straight face.

“So you’re vegan, I hear. There’s a lot of talk in town about you being vegan. Do you find it hard to go out to eat with your teammates?”

As he approached Jock Landale, Walkup noticed that he was having trouble entering the Zalgiris locker room with the fingerprint scanner.

“Mister Jock, it appears that you can’t get into the locker room. Did they terminate your contract and now your fingerprint doesn’t work?”

“Pretty quick, one game. We didn’t win by enough. Now I’ve got to get out of here…” – responded Jock, remembering the opening game of the season, where he dropped 14 points in the 94-63 victory in Siauliai.
