K.C. Rivers looking to put all-around skillset to use in Zalgiris jersey 0

It didn’t take long for Zalgiris newcomer K.C. Rivers to set foot back in Zalgirio Arena. The 32-year-old already had a tour, is set to make his official debut on the hardwood on Sunday, as Zalgiris takes on Sintek-Dzukija Alytus.

After a year and a half absence, the American is looking forward to getting back to the EuroLeague, and he shared his thoughts on the upcoming chapter of his career with Zalgiris TV.

It’s good to be back on EuroLeague soil. Pressure of the club is different when you play against it, and now you join a club like this. It’s a top-notch organization. Everything seems to be in order, great facilities, for now that’s my biggest impression.”

K.C. Rivers didn’t need to do much information hunting about the club. The experienced basketballer is no rookie to Zalgirio Arena, as he has played here while he represented, Real Madrid, Panathinaikos Athens and Krasnodar Lokomotiv.

“I know the atmosphere, I know what it’s like to play here on the opposing side. I’m looking forward to seeing the opposite side, joining forces with it. I can’t wait for my first game. Playing in EuroLeague, we all know Zalgiris. We know the tough mantra behind the club. We know the passion for basketball. You just know the hard-nosed basketball that’s being played here.”

The veteran has spent six seasons playing for EuroLeague clubs with his best year statistically being the 2016-2017 season, when he donned a Panathinaikos jersey, averaging 11.2 points.

“I just bring multiple intangibles. I’m a guy who does everything. I can defend, I can shoot, I can help create for the team. It’s not one thing that stands out about me. I’m a diverse player. I’m going to bring passion, fight as hard as I can and give the maximum until the very end.”

K.C. Rivers will be wearing a jersey with number one on the back, and has already completed his medical and taken part in all mandatory photo shoots. He will join his first practice with the team on Saturday.
