Zalgiris to fulfill safety recommendations 37
On Thursday, Zalgiris Kaunas once again confirmed that during the EuroLeague Round 26 match-up between Zalgiris Kaunas and AX Armani Milano on the 28th of February, 2020, they will be in compliance with the recommendations.
In a special press conference, Zalgiris director Paulius Motiejunas explained the current situation.
“We would like to inform that we received a report from the Ministry of Health with their recommendations. One of them was to delay the game. We were in contact with the EuroLeague, and they claimed that there is no possibility to delay the games. Another option was playing without supporters, but we do think the club does not exist without our fans.
Their support is extremely important and we are not considering playing without our fans. We will be taking all possible precautions. We will try to guarantee your safe-being in the arena.
If we decided not to play, it would most likely mean a technical loss, and that would hurt us both financially and in the league standings.”
After a letter sent to the Milano club on Wednesday, the team informed Zalgiris that the fans that were supposed to be traveling together with the team, will not be joining them, to ensure that the situation does not worsen.
There is also an opportunity for those who have purchased tickets to the game, but have decided not to come because of the threat of the coronavirus, to get a refund.
To make the refund go smoother, you are asked to fill out this form: http://bit.ly/TicketsRefund.
Fans are asked to make the refund request until the 13th of March, 2020. Refunds may take up 14 business days, so we ask fans for their patience.
Zalgiris also shares the information and recommendations provided by the Extreme situations operations center in the Ministry of Health in Lithuanian, English and Italian. These recommendations have been sent out to the Milano AX Armani club, which was asked to share with their team’s fans.
