Information about the upcoming Zalgiris’ games 3

The sports world received a number of surprising news on Thursday. Due to the threat of the coronavirus, EuroLeague announced that it was stopping the tournament indefinitely, while the government of the Republic of Lithuania decided that all sports events will take place without spectators for the next two weeks, between the 13^th of March until the 27^th of March.

Zalgiris Kaunas director Paulius Motiejunas addressed the issue in a special press conference on Thursday.

“While there is still a lot of uncertainty, we approve of these decisions. The most important thing is the health of the players and fans. EuroLeague is following all submissions from the World Health Organzation and that will continue to have significant impact on all future moves.”

According to the current information, Zalgiris’ EuroLeague game against Fenerbahce, that was supposed to take place on the 24^th of March will be postponed to a later date. All the tickets against the Turkish side will remain valid for the later date. If the new date does not suit the ticket purchaser, tickets will be refunded. Before a new date is set, tickets will not be refunded.

On Friday, 13^th of March, the board of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) will make a decision on the upcoming LKL games, including Sunday’s (March 15^th) game against Neptunas. Tickets are not to be refunded before it is certain whether the games are set to be played behind closed doors, or postponed. If the game is postponed, the purchased tickets will remain valid for the later date. If the new date does not suit the ticket purchaser, tickets will be refunded. Refunds will be issued only when the new date has been set.

The National Basketball League (NKL), that has Zalgiris-2 as one of the participating teams, has announced that NKL games are to be played without any spectators. The closest home game of Zalgiris youth team is set to be played on the 15h of March against Vytis Sakiai.
