#ZalgirisOnAir. Paulius Motiejunas opens about Zalgiris life amid coronavirus outbreak 12
After a short break, Zalgiris returns with yet another #ZalgirisOnAir podcast. In the 15th episode of the show, we see a return of Zalgiris director Paulius Motiejunas, who was also the guest of the podcast pilot episode.
#ZalgirisOnAir host Kipras Serpauskas talked to the team manager about the current-day realities of the team and life under quarantine. Motiejunas’ usual activities running the organization were interrupted, just as has for every one of us, but tries to keep himself busy.
“I think of all kinds of activities. I have a lot of books that hadn’t been touched for a long time. It’s nice the ‘read’ pile is growing. More of house activities, preparing food, going to the store once a week with a big list. That’s one part. On weekends I head out to nature, to spend some time in fresh air. The tempo is much slower, but I think of some activities to keep myself off the sofa.”
Motiejunas, who was voted EuroLeague’s Manager of the Year for two consecutive years, argued for the Lithuanian Basketball League’s decision to suspend the season.
“That decision put in some certainty. During the meeting we were thinking that perhaps it’s too quick of an action, and we noted that. We have a different situation than other teams, because we still have the EuroLeague, and the others had already finished their European tenures. Now you can look at it and note that LKL made the right decision.”
The half-hour conversation also held topics about the positions of EuroLeague clubs and the EuroLeague Players Association positions, current tasks and future plans.
