#ZalgirisClassics invites to relive high-paced thriller in Tel Aviv 1
Zalgiris Kaunas continues the #ZalgirisClassics segment, where fans are invited to relive some legendary games in Zalgiris’ history. Every Sunday and Thursday we dive into a memorable game from Zalgiris TV’s archive.
This time, it’s a look back at the 2004-2005 EuroLeague season, as Zalgiris defeated powerhouse Maccabi, who later went on to win the title.
After losing the season opener to the Israeli side, Zalgiris looked to take revenge in the return leg. Both teams ended up hitting triple-digit scoring in the fast-paced affair, but Zalgiris managed to come out victorious, despite phenomenal performances from Sarunas Jasikevicius and Anthony Parker.
The superstar duo combined for 65 points, but even that was not enough to beat the Robert Pack-led green-and-whites.
The American dropped 26 points and guided Zalgiris to a much-needed fourth victory.
