Zalgiris blasts past Nevezis again in the Betsafe-LKL 8
Martin Schiller’s green-and-white troops secured another dominating victory against Nevezis-Optibet in the Betsafe-LKL. Zalgiris went on the road on Saturday and took a 53-point victory, defeating the Kedainiai side 108-53.
It was a one-sided road from the get-go, as Zalgiris went 11-0 to start the game, setting pace to finish the game before the first quarter even expired. With dominating play all-around, the green-and-whites were already up by 19 after the opening 10 minutes, 26-7.
The margin grew as the game progressed, and heading into the final period, the Lithuanian champions had all but settled it, 81-34. Marek Blazevic took over the scoring reigns in the final period, dropping 9 points alone, as Zalgiris witnessed another dominating win.
Nigel Hayes was the game’s top scorer, as he dropped 19 points. Marek Blazevic added a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double, as Joffrey Lauvergne finished the game with 12 points. Rokas Jokubaitis, who also had 6 assists, and Karolis Lukosiunas both dropped 9 points, while Marius Grigonis ended up with 8 points and 9 assists.
