Zalgiris holds off Pasvalys at home 6
Having returned to Zalgirio Arena for another Betsafe-LKL battle, Zalgiris secured yet another victory in the national front. This time, the Kaunas side brushed aside Pieno zvaigzdes, as they took a 95-76 victory.
While the green-and-whites started off strong, getting off to a 10-2 lead early on, the visitors had no intention of putting their arms down, as they raced back to jump ahead after the first quarter. The side from Pasvalys retained the advantage until halftime, as they went into the break up by six, 42-48.
Nevertheless, things were looking up for Zalgiris after the break, as they turned the tables around and headed into the final period up by five.
With six points from Marek Blazevic to open the final quarter, Zalgiris improved their lead to double-digits. The margin continued growing until the final buzzer, as Zalgiris secured a 19-point victory.
Marius Grigonis was doing it all for the hosts, as he dropped 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Martinas Geben added 15 points, while Augustine Rubit, Nigel Hayes and Thomas Walkup chipped in with 10 each. Walkup was 2 rebounds shy of a triple-double, as he added 11 assists and 8 boards to his 10-point tally.
