Zalgiris picks apart Juventus on the road 3
Another victory was achieved in the Betsafe-LKL this weekend, as Zalgiris dismantled Juventus 102-78 on the road in Utena.
This makes it Zalgiris’ 17th win in the domestic front, as they improved to 17-2.
The green-and-whites took matters into their own hands from the get-go, as a Rokas Jokubaitis-led Zalgiris ran off to a 27-18 opening quarter.
The game had no real twists and turns in its development, as the visiting Kaunas side kept increasing its lead. After another great quarter, Zalgiris improved the margin to 17 points before halftime, increasing it by another three before the closing quarter.
With the final quarter looking more like a formality than anything else, the defending champions coasted to the triple-digit scoring mark, winning the game handedly, 102-78.
Marius Grigonis lit it up for 18 points, as Rokas Jokubaitis added 13 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Paulius Jankunas chipped in with 12 points and 4 assists, while Karolis Lukosiunas and Martinas Geben ended up with 9 apiece.
