Zalgiris ends regular season with big win over Prienai 6
Zalgiris finished off the Betsafe-LKL regular season victoriously, as they swept aside CBet Prienai 101-81 and checked in with the 33rd victory in 36 games. Having secured the top spot in the standings a while ago, the Kaunas side will look to take on Pieno Zvaigzdes in the Quarter-Finals.
The green-and-whites started the game at top speed, running off to a quick 20-9 lead as the quarter opened. With solid play from the bench unit, the defending Lithuanian champions improved the margin to a 16-point advantage by the end of the first period.
With Arturas Milaknis draining three consecutive triples in the second quarter And Marius Grigonis heating up for a offensive masterclass, the advantage grew to 20, and Zalgiris entered halftime up big.
Marius Grigonis continued his personal scoring show after the break, as he added three more long-range shots to stay perfect from the field, as Zalgiris comfortably finished out the game.
