Zalgiris International Youth Camp sets sights on two foreign cities 0
Last summer Zalgiris hosted the Zalgiris Youth Camp for the first time, and they are set to continue with the project and are looking to take it to another level.
Zalgiris youth program will leave for international waters this summer, as two camps will be hosted in Romania and Estonia.
The first camp runs from the 28th of June until the 3rd of July in the Romanian Targu Mures city, with an opportunity given to youngsters born in 2005-2007.
Team, physical and individual skill practices will be run by Zalgiris-2 and Zalgiris-3 coaches, who will also introduce the participants to Zalgiris’ youth development principles and hold various lectures.
The Zalgiris International Youth Camp in Tartu, Estonia will take place between the 20-23 of July, with youngsters born between 2004-2008 invited to participate.
The camp attendees can expect the same program as the one in Romania, but with an addition of some Estonian specialists. In both Romania and Estonia, coaches will also be invited to improve themselves in the camp.
The Zalgiris Youth Camp was held in Kaunas in previous years, as was the Zalgiris Professional Camp targeted at professional basketball players looking to get their preparations for the season in order. Before that, the Kaunas also hosted the Zalgiris Talent Camp.
Three years ago, the Zalgiris Invitational Camp was held in Denmark, where Lithuanian coaches worked with the youngsters of the Scandinavian country. After that, nearly 50 Danes, including the national team’s head coach Erez Bittman participated in the camp in Kaunas.
