Zalgiris part ways with Garino 15
After a tough, injury-plagued season in Kaunas, Patricio Garino will not be making his return to the line-up of the Lithuanian Champions.
Having signed on a 1+1 deal last summer, Zalgiris used its right to terminate the contract with the Argentinian.
The 28-year-old small forward arrived to Lithuania after a difficult injury, and had to go through another surgery right as the season started. The swingman only suited up for 10 games for Zalgiris, before his season was ended by another injury.
In the 4 EuroLeague games he played, Garino averaged 7 minutes of action with 3 points per game. His numbers were slightly better in the Lithuanian basketball league, as he averaged 3.5 points and 1.5 rebounds in in 9 minutes of action.
Due to the fact that it was an injury-ridden season for Patricio, the club found an agreement for him to reduce his salary mid-way through the season.
Zalgiris has gone through a number of roster changes already this season, with the additions of Josh Nebo, Mantas Kalnietis, Niels Giffey and Tyler Cavanaugh. They managed to retain Lukas Lekavicius and has said their goodbyes to Thomas Walkup, Nigel Hayes and Marius Grigonis.
