#ZalgirisOnAir sits down with Brock Motum 0

As he’s spending his summer vacations in Lithuania together with his family and eagerly awaits the upcoming season, former Zalgiris man Brock Motum joined #ZalgirisOnAir for a long-awaited conversation.

The Aussie spent two seasons in green-and-white, spending 2015-2017 season in Kaunas and shared his memories, experiences about being back in Lithuania and a new stage in life which he’s begun with his wife, former Zalgiris TV host, Martyna Motum.

The big man noted that he’s eagerly learning the Lithuanian language and hope’s to improve on his skills even more in the future.

“Martyna talks to our son only in Lithuanian, and I only talk in English so that he knows both languages. But I can’t let them talk in Lithuanian so that I don’t understand anything. I need to know what they’re talking about, so each and every day I have to learn more and more.”

The former green-and-white also shared his memories from his previous seasons spent in Turkey, France and Spain, and had an overlook of some of the performances of the EuroLeague teams: his former team’s Anadolu Efes triumph, the surprising Bayern, Sarunas Jasikevicius’ Barcelona. Motum also revealed his personal ambition to make his return to the EuroLeague.

“I spent 5-6 years in the EuroLeague. It’s the peak of European basketball, and I want go get back to it. On the other hand, I want to enjoy my basketball – that’s when I play best. There are a couple teams interested, but I’m letting my agent do the work – when we’ll have all possible options, we’ll pick the most suitable one.”

Brock also mentioned that he continues to follow and root for Zalgiris in the EuroLeague, and gave his view on coach Martin Schiller and the newly formed roster.

“I think this team can reach the Top 8. Martin Schiller has done a great job and will now have a chance to continue working on where he left off. You brought back solid Lithuanians, and they’re the pride of Zalgiris. I always watch the games and deep inside, hope they win. I hope and I believe that Zalgiris will manage to make it to the Top 8 and the Final Four.”
