Coach Zdovc adresses road game against Panathinaikos 16
Panathinaikos Athens game against Zalgiris Kaunas on Thursday will go ahead as scheduled, as the Greek powerhouse will have 9 available players.
Zalgiris head coach Jure Zdovc had a press conference before the game, where he revealed that the Lithuanians champions will fly to Greece, adding which Panathinaikos players will be missing.
“Nemanja Nedovic, Leonidas Kaselakis and Jeremy Evans. Howard Sant-Roos (should miss the game as well), but maybe he can show up, but he’s the player who hasn’t played for ten days or so,” Zdovc said.
“We have already played Panathinaikos at home. They have a lot of weapons. Stopping Macon will be important, Okaro White is in great shape. I’m not even talking about Papapetrou and Papagiannis, who have a lot of experience. Also, their bench players can step up,” Zdovc told the media.
Speaking of Zalgiris, the Lithuanian powerhouse welcomed back their captain Paulius Jankunas, who recovered after meniscus surgery. Joffrey Lauvergne and Regimantas Miniotas continue their rehab with long term injuries.
However, Zoran Dragic will miss the second consecutive game, and as Zdovc said himself, it was his decision.
“Zoran is not in the 12-man roster,” Zdovc said. “It was my decision, we didn’t take him to the game against Juventus Utena, because it was a preparation match for the game against Panathinaikos. He is still with the team and practices well.”
