Zalgiris parts ways with Francois Lamy 8
Zalgiris Assistant General Manager Francois Lamy is set to leave the team. The 46-year-old Frenchman and Lithuanian champions have decided to part ways on a mutual agreement.
Having worked as a basketball agent and a consultant for multiple French teams, Lamy joined Zalgiris last August.
“I would like to thank Zalgiris for giving me this opportunity to soak in experience in a historical European basketball club, and one that has an incredible fanbase. I’ve said it time and time again: the culture and understanding of basketball in Lithuania are unique, and it takes time to get used to it. A short-term commitment for the club isn’t quite compatible with that. We’ve agreed to part ways on a mutual agreement so that both the club and myself personally would have time for planning and could start looking ahead at future challenges. I wish the best possible finish to the season to the entire organization, its dedicated employees and fans.”
With the Assistant GM spot now vacant, Zalgiris expects to reinforce this position right at the end of the 2021-2022 season.
