Zalgiris cruises to King Mindaugas Cup final 6
Zalgiris Kaunas became the first finalist of the Lithuanian Cup with an 80-68 win over Siauliai in a four-team tournament in Vilnius.
Zalgiris will have a chance to defend the crown against either Lietkabelis Panevezys or tournament host Rytas Vilnius.
Against Siauliai, Zalgiris led from start to finish, and took control behind 8 points from Tyler Cavanaugh, while Paulius Jankunas and Arturas Milaknis hit one three-pointer apiece in a 10-2 run that made it 27-17.
Siauliai rallied in the second quarter, but Janis Strelnieks and Mantas Kalnietis each hit a three-pointer to keep Zalgiris in front and Edgaras Ulanovas scored 7 points to make it 45-38 at halftime.
Zalgiris restored a double-digit margin in the third quarter then used baskets from Jankunas and Joffrey Lauvergne to open 67-49 early in the fourth, and cruise to victory.
