Zalgiris is the King Mindaugas Cup 2022 champion! 10
Zalgiris Kaunas won Lithuania’s King Mindaugas Cup for the third consecutive season with a 91-66 victory over Lietkabelis Panevezys in the final at ASG Arena in Vilnius.
Josh Nebo scored 25 points on 11-of-12 shooting, Joffrey Lauvergne added 19 points on-8-of-10 shooting plus 8 rebounds and Edgaras Ulanovas netted 13 to lead the winners, who made 77.5% of their two-pointers.
Vytenis Lipkevicius led Lietkabelis with 14 points, Kaspars Berzins had 13 and Gabrielius Maldunas 11.
Lauvergne scored 6 points in a 10-0 run for a 14-5 lead and Nebo scored the last 4 points of the first quarter to give Zalgiris the game’s first double-digit lead, 22-12.
Nebo and Lauvergne continued to dominate inside as Zalgiris doubled-up Lietkabelis, 32-16, and cruised to a 46-27 halftime advantage.
Little changed in the second half and the margin peaked at 80-49 early in the fourth as Zalgiris rolled to victory.
